Driver FAQ's
Common questions and answers about driving with JFT:
How much do you pay?
Determining a specific pay rate is challenging. Compensation varies based on the division in which the driver operates and their years of experience. Rates can range from 45 cents per mile to as much as 62 cents per mile. Local drivers are paid hourly and it varies on what division the driver operates in.
What kind of incentives?
We offer monthly bonuses ranging from 5 cents per mile up to 10 cents per mile for drivers who meet all safety and performance criteria in that month. An additional 10 cents per mile is added annually for maintaining safety and performance standards throughout the year. This means you could earn up to an extra 20 cents per mile each year by consistently meeting our safety and performance goals.
SAP Friendly?
At this time, Jeff Foster Trucking is not hiring drivers who have completed a SAP program within the past 5 years.
Where do you run?
We operate across all 48 states and Canada; however, most of our freight is concentrated east of the I-35 corridor.
What kind of trucks?
Our fleet is predominantly made up of Kenworth and Peterbilt trucks, complemented by Volvo, International, and Freightliner models. The trucks in our possession span the years 2016 to 2024. While we mostly feature automatic trucks, we also offer a range of manual options.
What ELD do you use?
We use Samsara.
What speed are your trucks?
Our fleet is governed at 70mph.
Do you have driver facing cameras? Fr
We have both outward and inward-facing cameras that comply with our insurance requirements. Unlike many other options on the market available, our cameras are not equipped for live viewing. They are designed to record in 20-second intervals when certain qualifying events occur, such as the driver not wearing a seatbelt, using their phone, making hard turns, braking, and similar actions.
What do you do for physicals?
Jeff Foster Trucking covers the cost of a new hire's DOT drug screening, along with a physical agility test to ensure you can meet the job's physical demands as stipulated by our insurance. When a driver is hired with us, we will pay for your regular DOT physical.
Pet Policy?
Drivers are permitted to bring along a maximum of two furry companions, requiring a $500 deposit for each pet, documentation of current vaccinations, and proof of renters or homeowners insurance.
Rider Policy?
Following the completion of a successful 90-day probationary period, drivers may have passengers (ages 12-72) accompany them, provided they have a signed authorization form from their driver manager and/or HR/Safety.
