Garfield Terminal

Jeff Foster entered the trucking industry in 1981. Prior to 1981 he was a salesman for a welding supply company in Duluth, Minnesota. During this time he was also a member of the Minnesota Air National Guard, and aspired to fly for the airlines. Deregulation of the airlines in 1978 seemed to slow airline growth and his attention turned to the soon to be deregulated Trucking Industry. With his industrial contacts in the area he was able to get started. Adding a truck and driver every 6 months he grew his business to 8 trucks and had to discontinue driving to concentrate on further growth. The company stopped leasing its equipment to other companies when it received its operating authority in 1986. The first new flatbed trailers were purchased in 1986. Our first new Kenworth T-600 tractors came in 1987. The company expanded into the Van market in 1987 when its flatbed customers had Van needs. These facilities were soon out-lived and construction began on our present facilities located in Superior, Wisconsin.

Superior Terminal

The current property at 313 Winter Street was purchased in 1988. Development of the site and construction of the facility was accomplished in 1990. In 1992 we started the Tanker Division which has grown to 45 tractors and 75 trailers. In 1997 we started out aggregate division which consists of end dump and belly dump trailers, as well as Tri Axle Dump Trucks. In 2001 we took on log hauling which was originally meant to just keep our aggregate tractors busy during the winter months. We continued this activity and currently operate 25 tractors in logging operations.

Superior Terminal #2

The Ruan building was purchased in 1997 and doubled its size in 1999. Alliance Steel’s building (60X180) was purchased in 1995. It currently houses Tanker Dispatch, H. R. & the Jeff Foster Trucking Collision Center.

Superior Terminal #3

Purchase of the former Georgia Pacific (Superior Fiber Products) was accomplished in December of 2003 It consists of 49 Acres with 193,000 sq ft of Storage and manufacturing space. Currently the Logging and Aggregate divisions operate from this facility. Jeff’s commitment to preventative maintenance gives our drivers and ultimately our customers the assurance that we have the safest, most dependable equipment available. By continuing to hire the best people for the job, Jeff Foster Trucking will continue to be a true leader in the trucking industry. We intend that our relationship with all our present and future customers be one where our quality of work and customer satisfaction policy is known and practiced.
