Giving Back Where It Matters Most

This month, our team came together for a toy and supply drive supporting Safe Haven and The Damiano Center — two organizations doing real, on-the-ground work for people in our community who need it most.

Trucking is built on showing up. No excuses. No shortcuts. And that mindset doesn’t stop when the trucks are parked.

Thanks to the generosity of our employees, drivers, and community members, we were able to collect toys and essential supplies that will help families and individuals facing some of the toughest situations there are. From everyday necessities to items that bring a little joy and comfort, every donation mattered.

Safe Haven provides critical support and shelter for those experiencing domestic violence, while The Damiano Center offers food, clothing, and resources for individuals and families working to get back on their feet. These organizations don’t just offer help — they offer hope, dignity, and a path forward.

We’re proud of our team for stepping up and proud to support organizations that don’t back down from hard work. This drive was a reminder that when a group of people pulls together, real impact happens.

Jeff Foster Trucking Holds Toy and Supply Drive

This fall, our company organized a toy and supply drive in the Duluth/Superior community.

Thanks to our dedicated drivers and employees, we collected an impressive $1,500 in donations, along with a significant amount of goods to donate! We utilized the funds to shop for both organizations, ensuring we could fulfill their specific needs.

We take immense pride in our drivers and employees for their generous spirit this year, allowing us to give back to the community! A heartfelt thank you to everyone who contributed to this worthy cause.

As part of our efforts, we conducted a supply drive focused on hygiene products and basic clothing for Life House. They provide extensive support services tailored to the needs of youth and young families aged 14 to 24 who are experiencing unstable housing and various life challenges. For our toy drive, we proudly donated toys to the Damiano Center for the third consecutive year. As the largest emergency meal provider in Northeastern Minnesota, they also host the biggest free store in Duluth. May ushers in warmer temperatures across various regions, prompting a fresh set of safety guidelines for Truck Drivers navigating new challenges on the roads. Explore the compiled list below to acquaint yourself with safety tips tailored for the month of May!

1. Look for construction zones.

Before hitting the road, be sure to check for any ongoing construction zones along your route on the state Department of Transportation's website. Plan your trip accordingly to avoid driving through these areas during peak traffic hours, or seek an alternative route if available.

2. Pre-Trips.

Prior to embarking on your journey, don't forget to include a check on your air conditioning system as part of your pre-trip inspection to ensure it is functioning correctly. Also, remember to inspect the coolant level in your engine.

3. Take care of yourself!

Stay well-hydrated and healthy in hot weather conditions to prevent dehydration. Keep a sufficient supply of water in your truck, prioritize adequate rest, and opt for nutritious food options.

4. Practice patience.

March Health and Wellness Tips For Truck Drivers

We know staying healthy while constantly being over the road can be a challenge. That's why we've compiled a short list for the month of March that focuses on some tips and tricks on staying happy and healthy over the road!

Health and Wellness Tips

Make exercise part of your daily schedule! Before you head out in your truck in the morning, take a walk, or take a walk around the truck stop in the evening.
Start slowly. If you're not someone who exercises often, focus on building up your endurance by taking a short walk at first and then gradually increasing the distance.
Find something you enjoy doing. Maybe walking isn't your thing. What about biking, tennis, basketball, swimming? Bring a basketball with you in your truck and find the nearest park and shoot some hoops! If you're doing something you find fun, it makes it a lot easier to have the motivation to exercise!
Choose your food mindfully. Instead of a doughnut for breakfast, eat a hardboiled egg. Instead of sugary soda, swap it for water. Instead of ordering steak at a diner, choose the salmon! There are many swaps you can make throughout your day that will all lead to you feeling better both mentally and physically!
Monitor your stress levels. We understand truck drivers have a stressful job some days. That's why it's important you focus on relaxing when you have the time to do so. The best way to cope with stress is by getting at least seven hours of sleep per day, eating a predominantly plant-based diet, exercising regularly, meditating, and staying socially connected. Add more veggies into your diet out on the road (swap the fries for the broccoli), find some time to take a walk in the morning, and make sure to make time to connect with your friends and family on a daily or weekly basis.

We are excited to announce that we have partnered with local business "Shirts Unlimited" in Superior, WI to create a new online Jeff Foster Trucking merchandise store.

The new merch has many different color options, and excitingly, different logo options! We have the JFT logo, bulk services, collision center, heavy haul, industrial park, and RP Tankwash as logo choices on most items. We also have a new variety of items ranging from different t-shirts, polos, sweatshirts, jackets, and more!

As of February 1st, 2024, all full-time company employees are now eligible to take place in our new employee rewards program that recognizes employees for their birthdays, work anniversaries, and outstanding performance.
